SHERE  FUN
                HOLIDAY  PLAYSCHEME.

    HOW  IT  ALL  BEGAN ??

As the result of a local questionnaire and feasibility study carried out by Diann Arnfield on whether there was a demand for such a scheme, Shere  Fun commenced in February 1996, in Shere Infant School with the financial support of a Childcare Grant from the SURREY TRAINING & ENTERPRISE  COUNCIL.
This grant was part of the governments CHILDCARE
INITIATIVE PROJECT.
A voluntary Management Committee was set up under the leadership of Diann  Arnfield who was at the time working for
Surrey County Council in the field of developing Out Of School Provision. The Committee then consisted of local professional women who all contributed to the set up of the
Playscheme and who had children at the local schools that required this type of provision locally.

     SHERE  FUN   FLOURISHES !!

Shere Fun is now flourishing, bookings go quickly, we have children who attend regularly, and the scheme has built up a positive
Healthy reputation within the local community and surrounding areas.

Shere Fun offers a range of activities from sports; environmental; art & craft; drama; to visits to local sites, for children to be aware of their immediate rural environment.

This success has been due to the combination of  expertise and knowledge, of the members of the Shere Fun Management Committee / staff ,who all have diverse skills in the area of  Child Care,  Development and Teaching.
